A high-level meeting on China-ASEAN agricultural and poverty-reduction cooperation will be held in Nanning on 17 September 2026, as part of the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo programme.

Under the theme of joint smart agriculture and poverty-reduction cooperation, the session will address the research and development of agricultural digital technology, data sharing, and the training of smart agriculture talent. Side events include a Guangxi-ASEAN agricultural cooperation exhibition and a Lancang-Mekong smart agriculture technical exchange programme.

For equipment importers and distributors in Southeast Asia, the direction of travel is clear. Regional cooperation of this kind is typically followed by demonstration projects, technical standards alignment and financing support, each of which lowers the practical barriers to adopting irrigation and fertigation systems.
